The staff at Digital Records Management has over 50 years of experience in providing software solutions for document management, data management, and report production.
In 1982, Turnkey Computers was originated by Franz Gerster and provided computer hardware and services to the Manufacturing Arena. As the company grew, Franz's brother, John, joined the staff and they began to provide software applications to their clients as well. John brought his skills in software design and programming to the company and an additional company named Simple Software, Inc. was developed to back the custom software applications that were produced. Turnkey computers continued to provide Autodesk products as well as computer services until computer hardware and general software applications were available in local chain stores. That is when the company was dissolved into Simple Software, Inc.
In 1988, Simple Software, Inc. released its first commercial database software application, "Omni Job Shop". This DOS Program was designed for machine shops to estimate and calculate machine cut times and schedule the shop floor.
Over the next ten years, a variety of custom software applications were written to meet the specific needs of our customers and the Omni product line grew to include job tracking, shipping and receiving, accounting, and document management. There was a growing trend that was underlying the requests of our customers, and it seemed that there was a general need for a document management solution.
So in 1998, Simple Software, Inc. released the "Virtual Vault" document management software and this product line expanded beyond private corporations and landed in government offices, health departments, and eventually Veteran Service Offices.
By 2000, most of our efforts were placed into the document management aspect of computer software, and the company name was changed to Digital Records Management, Inc. to better reflect our operations and the services we provide.
The Virtual Veterans Package was originally designed in 2002 - 2003 by our programmers in conjunction with Veterans Service Organizations in the State of Ohio. Through our work with these officers, we discovered that Veterans Service Organizations had issues beyond Document Management. We developed the Virtual Veterans software package to address these special needs.
Since the release of the Software in 2003, DRM has received input and requests from VSOs across the country. In 2007, DRM released Virtual Veterans 5 in response to this correspondence. Our staff continues to work to improve our software to better meet the needs of the Veterans Service Officers so that they may better serve our Veterans.
